
The purpose/mission of the Medicaid Lead Screening Advisory Committee is to provide information and advice to the Administrator of the Division of Medicaid regarding Blood Lead Screening for Idaho Medicaid children through a collaborative relationship with public health entities, educational entities, the Silver Valley Resource Center and private citizens. The goals include but not limited to:
1. Improving parent/family education – The committee will recommend strategies for education efforts to increase the understanding of families on the importance of requesting blood lead screens for their children.
2. Improve Blood Lead Screening rates by primary care providers through information and education – The committee will recommend information, education and intervention strategies for primary care providers to improve compliance with lead screening requirements
